To be able to knit Fair isle easier and to knit faster, I am practising continental knitting which means that I hold the thread in my left hand instead of right hand. Knitting went very well for a while allready, but purling was a disaster I almost gave up. Then I found this video and that explained why I wasn’t able to purl. In the video she also says that your tension is much looser, true! And that’s why I have to knit a gauge swatch now with regular sockyarn (Regia) and 2 needle sizes smaller (2 mm.) Finally this will become stockings for my daughter Tara (8)
And where are the big loops for, well the swatch is a fake knitting in the round so I can determine the gauge better, since I do not have to purl and purling causes most of the time a different gauge.

Dank je voor de link naar het filmpje. Ik ga het uitgebreid bestuderen.
